The band need to be dressed in their usual attire, their name is what the shoot is focused around the band because it is all about them, the photos will be of the band posing with their instruments. Article Planning Sheet - 'Top 10 Albums to Hear Before you Die.'

Article Planning Sheet
Plan the language use of the primary code of your article in the box below.

Planning Comments
article genre
(purpose, type)
The genre for this article is music, it is an article about the top albums to hear before you die, the article will be a countdown of the albums from ten to one. I think this article will be an instructional album because it will be a recommendation article for the readers to go out and purchase/listen to the albums involved in the article.
Narrative voice
(1st, 2nd or 3rd person)
In this article, I will make it personal with the use of ‘you’ a lot, I thought this would work because I want the article to recommend albums to the people so using words that are personal like ‘you’ will make the readers feel that the article is about them and that they should do what it says.
Register
(informal/formal, colloquial, dialect, taboo words?)
The article is informal, it will be more of a one-sided conversation, I will try to write it as if the reader is listening from a friend, this makes it easier to read and a more enjoyable read. I will use some taboo language, but I cannot use too much because of the target audiences age, that is the thing that stops me from excessive taboo. There will be a use of colloquial words, because the magazine is a local magazine, I can use language that is localised which will make the reader feel involved again because they can understand the article.
Stylistics
(repetition, strong verbs, adjectives, alliteration, similes, metaphors, sentencing, rhythm)
I will use a lot of adjectives in this article to accentuate the albums and make them sound as good as possible so people will go out and listen to them. I enjoy using alliteration because I think it is professional and looks good, so I will try to use alliteration within the article. The sentences in the article will not be too long otherwise it would be an eye sore, so I decided to make them a reasonable size.
Tone of address
(hectoring, sarcastic, ‘matey’, ironic, etc)
There is a very informal article, I want to make the reader feel like they are friends with the writer and that they are having a conversation on the subject and the reader isn’t just reading it from a magazine. I won’t directly use words like ‘mate’ or ‘friend’ but I want to make the writing style seem like it is a social thing.
Structure and pace
(discourse structure, logical paragraphing, connectives, conclusion)
The article will have a steady pace so it is a nice read when you read it, it will begin with an introductory paragraph, and then the following ten paragraphs will be each of the articles, and then the final paragraph will be a conclusion/ closing paragraph, I feel that it is a logical structure because it separates each of the articles into a separate paragraph so it is easier to follow.

Article target audience:

Planning Comments
article genre
(purpose, type)
The article is an integrated interview, this is an interview that tells a story, I have chose to do it in this style because it is more interesting and can get the reader more engaged than a simple question and answer format. It is interviewing a band on their interests and general information on the band.
Narrative voice
(1st, 2nd or 3rd person)
I have decided to use the 1st person narrative for this article because I think that if I write the article from my own view then it will give the reader a knowledge of what happened exactly, if I changed the narrative voice then the readers would not get a first hand opinon on the interview and it would seem more fictional because it was not coming from my words.
Register
(informal/formal, colloquial, dialect, taboo words?)
I have chosen to go for an informal approach to my article writing style, this is because my mock ups were fairly formal and the target audience i presented the plans to did not like the formality and recommended that I changed it, I have chosen this also so I can write to fit the narrative voice, I find it easier writing from a first person view with an informal piece than a formal piece. Because of the magazines regional base, i may use some colloquial language, this is to suit the regional audience, I may end up using some taboo words if they are said within the article, because one of my secondary audiences are the readers parents, and the target age range of my primary audience starts rather low, I cannot use too explicit words, minimal taboo will be used and if used, not too foul.
Stylistics
(repetition, strong verbs, adjectives, alliteration, similes, metaphors, sentencing, rhythm)
My piece will use alliteration, this gives it a catchy edge that the readers can enjoy. I will use strong verbs in it to give it a feel of power and that the readers can enjoy it. The sentences in the article will be an average length, they will not be too long that they get boring, but they will not be too short, I have decided to possibly use a short sentence at the end to bring the article to a close with a short and snappy sentence.
Tone of address
(hectoring, sarcastic, ‘matey’, ironic, etc)
The tone of address will be rather friendly  because I am friends with the involved band, I can give the interview a friendly feel, and then when writing the article, I can make that also rather friendly. I think that a friendly style is good for an article because it makes the article easier to read and takes out the possibility of it being boring.
Structure and pace
(discourse structure, logical paragraphing, connectives, conclusion)
The paragraphing of the article will be rather easy to plan out, at the beginning I will have a paragraph with a brief introduction, basically introducing the band, then the next few paragraphs will be for the questions in the interview and a concluding paragraph to finish, there was no other way that I could plan out the paragraphs so i decided that this way would be suitable

My Contingency Plans

My Top Ten Project Killers

What could go wrong during production
How are you going to avoid this issue? What’s your back up plan?
The models might not show up
If this happens then I may have to postpone shoot, meaning in the long run, postpone the final product. If I do not have enough time to re schedule the whole shoot, then I will have to find replacement models, this will be okay in two of my articles because they are not articles aimed at a specific person/people. If 'Capture' do not turn up to the shoot, then I will have to re schedule the time for the shoot because there is an article specifically at the band.
 Camera breaks
If the camera breaks in the shoot then I will have a back up camera at hand, it could be possible that there could be a glitch with the camera, if this does happen, I will have a spare camera so if there is a problem then I can just continue without any interruption.
 Weather conditions dirsupting shoot
Even though the shoot for my project is in the studio, there may be some weather conditions affecting the availability of the studio, for example the college in which the studio is based could be closed for weather problems like snow or rain, if these problems arise then I will have to rearrange the allotted studio time with the organizers so I can guarantee that I will get a studio time that will be suitable.
 Illness
If i am ill during my allotted studio time then I will also have to re schedule, if I am well enough to travel to college then the shoot will continue, but if i am severely ill then I will have to cancel the shoot and rearrange it for another time.
Shoot clashing with exams

One of the problems that could clash with the shoot is exams, if one of the models, or myself for that matter has exams then the shoot will have to be postponed and rearranged, if one of the involved models has an exam, then the rest of the models can still take part in the shoot, I would just have to re book for the article shoot on the person who has an exam

Shoots booked but cameras not available or booked
There could be a problem with cameras when i have a shoot booked, there may be no cameras available for the shoot, to over come this I will make sure I book a camera and make sure that the camera will be available.
Not enough time scheduled for difficult or complex shoots.

This could be a problem because I may have a hard shoot style on my hands and if I have a short amount of time to fit it in, then I may not get all of the necessary shots that I require. To overcome this problem, I will make sure that I plan ahead with my photoshoots and book enough time so I can get everything that I desire from my shoot in the time I am given.
Photo shoots taking a long time set up so that you are only left with a short time to get pictures

To make sure this doesn’t happen, i will see if there is anyone using the studio before my shoot, if no one is in, i will go in and set up for the shoot ensuring that the whole time I have booked is used for the photos
