Article Planning Sheet - 'Top 10 Albums to Hear Before you Die.'

Article Planning Sheet
Plan the language use of the primary code of your article in the box below.

Planning Comments
article genre
(purpose, type)
The genre for this article is music, it is an article about the top albums to hear before you die, the article will be a countdown of the albums from ten to one. I think this article will be an instructional album because it will be a recommendation article for the readers to go out and purchase/listen to the albums involved in the article.
Narrative voice
(1st, 2nd or 3rd person)
In this article, I will make it personal with the use of ‘you’ a lot, I thought this would work because I want the article to recommend albums to the people so using words that are personal like ‘you’ will make the readers feel that the article is about them and that they should do what it says.
Register
(informal/formal, colloquial, dialect, taboo words?)
The article is informal, it will be more of a one-sided conversation, I will try to write it as if the reader is listening from a friend, this makes it easier to read and a more enjoyable read. I will use some taboo language, but I cannot use too much because of the target audiences age, that is the thing that stops me from excessive taboo. There will be a use of colloquial words, because the magazine is a local magazine, I can use language that is localised which will make the reader feel involved again because they can understand the article.
Stylistics
(repetition, strong verbs, adjectives, alliteration, similes, metaphors, sentencing, rhythm)
I will use a lot of adjectives in this article to accentuate the albums and make them sound as good as possible so people will go out and listen to them. I enjoy using alliteration because I think it is professional and looks good, so I will try to use alliteration within the article. The sentences in the article will not be too long otherwise it would be an eye sore, so I decided to make them a reasonable size.
Tone of address
(hectoring, sarcastic, ‘matey’, ironic, etc)
There is a very informal article, I want to make the reader feel like they are friends with the writer and that they are having a conversation on the subject and the reader isn’t just reading it from a magazine. I won’t directly use words like ‘mate’ or ‘friend’ but I want to make the writing style seem like it is a social thing.
Structure and pace
(discourse structure, logical paragraphing, connectives, conclusion)
The article will have a steady pace so it is a nice read when you read it, it will begin with an introductory paragraph, and then the following ten paragraphs will be each of the articles, and then the final paragraph will be a conclusion/ closing paragraph, I feel that it is a logical structure because it separates each of the articles into a separate paragraph so it is easier to follow.
